Another Five Miles of Hell..Video

One of my favorite trails, but I often find myself asking why. It is difficult and should challenge most who attempt it. This video is from my second time riding the trail and it wasn't any easier the second time. We had a pretty large group this time and we were to run the Red Trail first as a warm up. We had great weather and the group really worked well to help get everyone through. For a Full Trail Report refer to the first visit. Or just enjoy the video.

  1. I noticed you used to ride an older cr250 and now you ride a KTM. I have a 2002 kx250 on which I am considering doing some trail mods (rekluse, hand guards, skidplate, kickstand, etc.). Wondering if you could give me some input regarding this versus saving my money for a KTM 250xc-w. What KTM did you go with? What advice would you have for me? Thanks!

    1. Yes that's correct. I think it depends on where you are financially. Even with all the mods on my 01 cr250 it never quite got to where my newer ktm 250 is. I went with a 250xc(2010). Honestly it felt a little sleepy at first compared to the cr, but it was always a better off road bike even in stock form. After a few modifications though in the form of an sx head and module it's close to where I like it and much better bike experience than my old cr. For off road the 250xcw or 300xcw are sure winners. The power is very smooth and controlled. The xc is a bit more peppy feeling but they can all be dialed in to each person's liking.

    1. Hey man!, I remember..Fun ride, it beat me up though! don't think it was my day. You did awesome on that bike. I have a 450 now and I don't know if I'd try it with that, maybe now with the rekluse it has. maybe a fan too. :)
